Nestled in the heart of the city within the historic Free Trade Hall, this sophisticated venue offered an afternoon of pure elegance, where exquisite flavors met impeccable service.

From the moment I stepped into The Library Lounge, I was captivated by its refined ambiance. The space is beautifully designed, blending modern luxury with timeless charm. Handbound books by the renowned French publisher Assouline and original artwork adorned the walls, adding a cultured touch to the already exquisite setting. The air was filled with a sense of calm sophistication, making it the perfect escape from the bustling streets of Deansgate.
The Afternoon Tea itself was a masterpiece. Served on a tiered stand, each element was freshly prepared in-house by The Library’s talented pâtissiers. The selection of handcrafted sandwiches included classic combinations and innovative flavors, each bite as delightful as the last. The scones, served warm with clotted cream and homemade preserves, were a highlight—light, fluffy, and utterly delicious. The patisseries were beautifully presented and tasted just as divine, each one a testament to the skill and creativity of the chefs.

To elevate the experience further, I indulged in a glass of Wild Idol’s exquisite alcohol-free sparkling wine, which paired beautifully with the delicate flavors of the Afternoon Tea. The extensive selection of fine teas also impressed, catering to every preference, from classic English Breakfast to fragrant herbal infusions.
Set within a Grade II listed property, the setting of The Edwardian Manchester made the experience even more special. The grandeur of the Free Trade Hall, combined with the contemporary sophistication of The Library Champagne Lounge, created an atmosphere that was both historic and modern, opulent yet inviting.
